An emergency water service shutdown is scheduled on a portion of Kuamo’o Road in Kapa‘a starting at 10:30 a.m. due to a recent mainline break.

According to the Department of Water, the shutdown will impact a portion of Kuamo’o Road from the intersection of Opaeka’a Road to Pa’ako Street, including Aleo Street, Kuhoho Street, Pa’ako Street, Lihau Street, Iliki Street, Hie Street, Alahele Street and Molo Street. The service will be turned off for approximately four hours.

Additionally, a partial lane closure will be implemented on Kuamo’o Road with flaggers in place to provide a safe work zone for waterline repairs. Motorists are advised to slow down when approaching the work area.

Customers located within the service area are advised to store water to meet their needs until water service can be safely restored. Additional recommended steps include:

  • Notifying neighbors, family and friends about the service shutdown.
  • Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty during the shutdown.
  • Monitor water service announcements and updates to this notice online via the DOW’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/KauaiDOW.
