The Hanalei Canoe Club on the North Shore of Kaua‘i is celebrating its 50th anniversary and hosting its Golden Jubilee Lūʻau on July 29.

This very special fundraiser honors the Club’s roots and will raise funds to send local nā ʻōpio (youth) to the 2023 State Championship in Hilo in August.

Paddling and wa’a culture are the root of the  Lūʻau this year, which has not been hosted for several years.

There will be cultural activities and entertainment, ‘ono food, a silent auction, canoe rides and more; all activities celebrating Hawaiian canoe culture, history, and paddling.

Tickets are $60 for adults and $15 for keiki and available for purchase online at hanaleicanoeclub.org/luau or at the door. The gate at the very end of Weke Road behind Black Pot Beach opens at 4 p.m.
