The flood advisory previously in effect for western portions of Kaua’i has been canceled.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu says radar shows that the heavy rain the area had been experiencing has diminished and flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat.

At 3:07 p.m., radar indicated locally heavy rain around Barking Sands, Mānā and toward Polihale falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Some locations that saw some of the rainfall included Kekaha, Mānā, Waimea, Barking Sands, Polihale, Waimea Canyon State Park and Pakala Village.
