Kaua‘i Community College is working to define its new strategic plan for the next five years.
To do this, the college has formed a working group to create a draft for community input. They invite any and all community members to provide input on the strategic plan from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, in room OCET 106 C/D.
The draft plan is organized around University of Hawai‘i’s five areas of priority. These include:
- Model what it means to be an indigenous-serving and indigenous-centered institution: Native Hawaiians thrive, traditional Hawaiian values and knowledge are embraced, and University of Hawai‘i scholarship and service advance all Native Hawaiians and Hawai‘i.
- Educate more students, empowering them to achieve their goals and contribute to a civil society.
- Eliminate workforce shortages in Hawai‘i while preparing students for a future different from the present.
- Build and sustain a thriving University of Hawai‘i research and innovation enterprise that addresses local and global challenges by linking fundamental scientific discovery with applied research necessary for technological innovation to create jobs and advance a knowledge-based economy.
