Fire Crews Rescue Fallen Hiker Near Ho‘opi‘i Falls

A hiker suffered non-life-threatening injuries after falling while hiking in the Kapa‘a area on Sunday.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., Kaua‘i Fire Department received a call about the injured hiker who fell near Ho‘opi‘i Falls. Shortly after arriving on scene, rescue crews found the 35-year-old man.

The hiker was airlifted and later dropped off at Kapahi Park to awaiting medical and fire personnel. The scene was cleared at approximately 2 p.m.

KFD’s Rescue 3 responded to the scene aboard Air 1 and personnel with the Kaiākea fire station assisted in the rescue.
