3 hikers rescued from Kalalau Trail
First responders rescued three hikers from the Kalalau Trail on Sunday.
According to preliminary reports, personnel with Rescue 3 aboard Air 1 responded to the incident shortly before 3:20 p.m. on a report of distressed hikers. First responders arrived on scene and found the hikers unable to pass a section of the Kalalau Trail near mile marker 8 due to washed-out trail conditions.
First responders extracted the three hikers and transported them to a landing zone at Hanakāpī‘ai Beach, where they continued hiking out of the trail.
The scene was cleared at approximately 5:40 p.m.
