6.2 earthquake near Papua New Guinea; no tsunami threat to State of Hawaiʻi

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reports an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 has occurred at approximately 11:25 a.m. in the vicinity of Papua New Guinea.

But the warning center confirms that there is no tsunami threat to Kauaʻi or the State of Hawaiʻi.
