Road Work to Start on Ala Kinoiki Next Week

Portions of Ala Kinoiki will be closed starting July 6 for road reconstruction work.

According to the Department of Public Works, the road work will last till July 17 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, weather permitting. The project, handled by Maui Kupono Builders, will be completed in two phases.

The first phase of the work will be along Ala Kinoiki from Aina Place to Waila‘au Road from July 6 to July 10. The second phase will be along Ala Kinoiki from Waila‘au Road to Maluhia Road from July 13 to July 17.

Only local residents will be allowed on Ala Kinoiki during these closures. The county advises motorists to make appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closures, use alternate routes, and allow for extra time to get to destinations.
