The current northwest swell is transitioning to a more northerly direction (340 to 350 degrees) and will maintain advisory-level surf along north-facing shores of Kauaʻi, Niʻihau, Oʻahu, Molokaʻi and Maui through Wednesday night.
Surf of 12 to 16 feet is expected.
The advisory is in effect through 6 a.m. on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous. Follow all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don’t go out.
