Salvation Army ARC Monthly Donation Event Scheduled This Week
Residents, businesses and other organizations around the island can again bring unwanted or unneeded items for reuse to the Kaua‘i Resource Center in Līhu‘e during the upcoming monthly Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center donation event.
The ARC will be on-site at the resource center, located at 3460 Ahukini Road, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, June 24.
Items that can be donated include clothing, small furniture, children’s toys, books and shoes. Clothing and textiles do not need to be in good condition; torn or stained clothing is OK.
E-waste, chemicals, appliances or broken items will not be accepted.
Because of health and safety concerns with heavy equipment in the area and to reduce the chance of injury to customers unloading heavy items, the Salvation Army requests that the public remain in their vehicle while at the resource center.
The ARC also offers pick-up services to thrift stores and businesses. Call 808-241-4336 to schedule new service. For people seeking home pick-up service, contact the Habitat for Humanity Restore at 808-335-6105 or RP’s Random Closet at 808-346-0020.
“We encourage the public to check with their local thrift stores to see if they are capable of taking donations before bringing items to the KRC,” a news release said.
