No Injuries Reported Following Wailua Structure Fire

Firefighters extinguished a structure in Wailua Thursday evening.
No injuries were reported.
According to a preliminary report, firefighters were dispatched to a report of a structure fire on Kaholalele Road at approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Personnel from the Līhu‘e, Kapa‘a and Kaiakea fire stations; Rescue 3, the Fire Prevention Bureau; and the on-duty Battalion Chief responded to the incident.
According to a preliminary report, upon arrival at approximately 8:15 p.m., fire personnel discovered a structure fully engulfed in flames. After establishing a water supply via a hydrant, firefighters quickly knocked down the fire and assisted with shutting off the building’s utilities.
After the fire was extinguished, personnel with the Kaua‘i Fire Department Prevention Bureau conducted an investigation.
Firefighters cleared the scene at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Damages to structure and contents are estimated at $340,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
