Lane Closures Scheduled For Sections of Kapa‘a

Road and sidewalk construction work next week in Kapa‘a will require the closures of portions of several island roadways.

The county Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LLC. announced that portions of Mailihuna, Hau‘a‘ala and Kawaihau roads will be closed from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. May 9-3. Kolohala Road could also experience temporary closures. Dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other factors.

“These closures are necessary for clearing and grubbing work, roadway excavation and sidewalk construction,” said a news release from the county.

Motorists are encouraged to allow for extra travel time when driving near the work area and follow all construction traffic controls.

“Please exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area,” the release said.
