Road Closures Scheduled For Sections of Kapa‘a

Construction work planned for next week will necessitate closures on portions of roadways in Kapa‘a.
The county Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LLC. announced in a news release that portions of Mailihuna Road and Kawaihau Road will be closed from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 18-22. A portion Kawaihau Road, between Haua‘ala and Moa roads, will also be completely closed from 7 p.m.-5 a.m. the night of Thursday, April 21.
Additionally, the makai driveway to Kapaʻa High School’s athletic field might experience temporary closures.
These closures are necessary for clear and grubbing, excavating for water servicing and sidewalk construction, according to the news release.
“Motorists are encouraged to allow for extra travel time when driving near the work area and follow all construction traffic controls,” the release said. “Please exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area and along the detour route through Moa Road, which is near the homes of residents.”
Dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other factors.
