Salvation Army ARC Monthly Donation Event Scheduled
Have a small piece of furniture you don’t use anymore but think it might still have some value for somebody else? What about a few of your keiki’s toys they no longer use? Old books, clothes or shoes you might want to part with?
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center has an event that can help.
The ARC will be on-site from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, March 25, at the Kaua‘i Resource Center accepting donations from residents, businesses and other organizations of unwanted or unneeded items for reuse, including clothing, small furniture, children’s toys, books and shoes.
Clothing and textiles do not need to be in good condition. Torn or stained clothing is OK. Please do not bring e-waste, chemicals, appliances or broken items. The public is encouraged to also check with their local thrift stores to see if they are capable of taking donations before bringing items to the ARC donation event.
Because of health and safety concerns from heavy equipment in the area and to reduce the chance of injury to customers unloading heavy items, the Salvation Army requests those who bring donations to remain in their vehicle while on-site.
The ARC also offers pick-up services to thrift stores and businesses. Call 241-4336 to schedule new service. For people seeking home pick-up service, contact Habitat for Humanity Restore at 335-6105 or RP’s Random Closet at 346-0020.
The Kaua‘i Resource Center is located at 3460 Ahukini Road in Līhu‘e.
