Lane Closures Scheduled For Mailihuna Road

Sidewalk construction and other work will require periodic one-lane closures on portions of Mailihuna Road next week.

The county Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LLC. announced in a news release that portions of the roadway will be closed from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, March 14-18, weather permitting.

Additionally, the makai driveway to Kapaʻa High School’s office will be closed until March 21.

The periodic one-lane closures on Mailihuna Road are necessary for sidewalk construction, grade wall construction and roadway excavation.

The county encourages motorists in the area during the construction period to allow for extra travel time when driving near the work area and follow all construction traffic controls.

“Please exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area,” says the news release.
