Lane Closures Scheduled for Mailihuna Road

A portion of Mailihuna Road is expected to be closed several days this week.

The Kaua‘i County Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LLC. announced that part of the roadway will be closed between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. from today, Dec. 6, through Friday, Dec. 10, for sidewalk construction and roadway excavation.

A temporary detour route will be available through Kolohala and Hau‘a‘ala roads. Motorists are advised to expect brief and occasional delays.

The dates and times of the closures are subject to change depending on weather conditions.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area and along the detour route through Kolohala Road, which is narrow and near the homes of residents.
