Expirations for Driver’s Licenses, Learner’s Permits, State IDs extended to October
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 emergency response, Gov. David Ige’s latest proclamation has extended the validity of all driver’s licenses, learner’s permits and state identification cards for 60 days beyond their expiration date.
Those credentials with expiration dates since March 16, 2020, have been extended until Oct. 4, 2021.
“We do not know if there will be another extension granted via emergency proclamation,” said Finance Director Reiko Matsuyama. “Prior to this announcement, we offered extended hours for eligible customers to renew their driver’s licenses, learner’s permits, and state identification cards, but that program ends today, Aug. 6. After today, please make an appointment to ensure you don’t incur late penalties after the extension expires.”
