The Mauka Wailua Bridge will be completely closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18 for paving.
During the closure, Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation crews will maintain two-way traffic on the Mayor Bryan Baptiste Memorial Bridge, (Plantation Bridge), with one lane in each direction.
The paving work is part of the Wailua Bridge Repairs Project. The final stage of striping has been delayed due to Hurricane Lowell. The project is expected to be completed in mid-October 2026.
Variable message boards have been posted along Kūhiō Highway to alert road users. To view scheduled Kauaʻi lane closures for the week visit the Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation website.
