Hawaiʻi students in grades 7 through 12 can now enter the Hawaiʻi Regional Scholastic Art Awards, presented by Lexus Hawaiʻi and the Hawaiʻi State Foundation on Culture and the Arts.

Entries are open now through Dec. 12. Public, private, charter and homeschool students may enter.

Ten students statewide will receive Lexus Hawaiʻi’s Takumi Award, which includes $200 and statewide recognition. One nationally recognized Gold or Silver Key winner will receive the Visionary Award, which is a $4,000 scholarship plus a $4,000 grant for their school’s art program.

The winning work will be exhibited at Capitol Modern: the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum in Honolulu.

The program is part of the nation’s longest-running recognition program for creative teens. On average, eight to nine Hawaiʻi students advance to the national level each year, and National Medalists are honored at Carnegie Hall.

The exhibit and awards ceremony will be held Feb. 20.
