A flood watch is in effect starting Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Honolulu, a developing area of low pressure north of the Hawaiian Islands will draw deep tropical moisture northward, resulting in a threat for heavy rain over Kaua‘i and O‘ahu.
Heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop tonight and continue through Thursday. Training of heavy showers containing intense rain rates will be possible.
Excessive rainfall could cause flash flooding on flood-prone roads and in other low-lying areas on Ni‘ihau and Kaua‘i.
