Hawai‘i Department of Transportation officials notify motorists that the southbound lane of Kūhiō Highway in Līhuʻe will now be closed this weekend because of a postponement of work.

Crews will now close the southbound lane on Kūhiō Highway, between the one-way Kapaʻa Bypass Road to Moʻikeha Canal Bridge near Kountry Kitchen, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday so Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative can perform emergency utility pole replacement.
The utility pole replacements are part of ongoing recovery work in the aftermath of Hurricane Lowell.
Work was originally scheduled Wednesday and Thursday but was pushed back because of inclement weather.
Southbound traffic will be routed onto the one-way Kapaʻa Bypass Road during the work hours.
