Daily closures are coming to the southbound lanes on Kūhiō Highway beginning Wednesday, Sept. 30, for utility pole replacements as part of ongoing recovery work from Hurricane Lowell’s impacts.
Crews will close the lane between the one-way Kapaʻa Bypass Road to Moʻikeha Canal Bridge near Kountry Kitchen for the Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative to perform the emergency utility pole replacement, according to the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation.
Southbound traffic will be routed onto the one-way Kapaʻa Bypass Road during the work hours.
Work will start at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until Oct. 1.
