In-person Kauaʻi County services at Līhuʻe Civic Center remain closed while information technology systems are restored following a Sept. 9 Kāpule Building fire.
Some offices could reopen sooner than others, depending on when computer systems are restored. The county will share updates as in-person services resume.
The only exception is the Department of Finance’s Real Property Division, which is offering in-person assistance so property owners can meet the Sept. 30 filing deadline. Staff will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Purchasing Office, across from Kāpule Building, at Līhuʻe Civic Center.
Sept. 30 is the deadline to file for all property tax exemptions except the disaster relief claim form, which is due June 30.
Existing income exemptions will roll over, and those residents do not need to re-apply.
Property owners who already submitted an application and but not yet received an emailed confirmation that it was submitted are encouraged to resubmit because paperwork was destroyed in the fire.

- Drop box: Mōʻikeha Rotunda, Līhuʻe Civic Center, open 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Voicemails left on county phone lines might not be retrievable at this time, so do not expect a return call.
