Zephyr Insurance, Hawaiʻi’s hurricane insurance provider, will offer in-person claims assistance for policyholders whose homes and property were damaged by Hurricane Lowell in Līhuʻe this week.
Zephyr representatives will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 18, to help policyholders report hurricane-related damage, answer questions about their policies, and receive guidance on the claims process.
The Zephyr Insurance Claims Assistance Center will be located at 4393 Kukui Grove St., Suite 102, next to Mōkihanā Insurance Agency in Līhuʻe.
Walk-ins are welcome, and policyholders will be assisted on a first-come, first-served basis. Zephyr recognizes that power outages and limited phone and internet service may make it difficult for some residents to receive information about the Claims Assistance Centers.
Family members, friends, and neighbors are encouraged to share these details with Zephyr policyholders who may need assistance. Policyholders also have the option of reserving a time slot in advance online.
Policyholders seeking assistance with filing a claim in person should bring a copy of their policy declarations page or have their policy number ready. Policyholders who sustained damage are encouraged to document their loss by taking photographs and videos and making a list of damaged property and belongings.
Reasonable temporary repairs may be made to prevent additional damage, and receipts for emergency repairs, materials, and services should be retained. When possible, damaged property should not be discarded unless it presents a health or safety hazard.
Policyholders do not need to visit the center to report a claim. They should contact their insurance agent as soon as possible. Those unable to reach their agent may submit a notice of loss via the following methods:
- Email: claims@heritagepci.com
- Telephone: 808-440-5400
- Fax: 808-440-5444
