The Kauaʻi Department of Water has scheduled an overnight water service shutdown on Sept. 2 and 3, affecting part of Kiahuna Plantation Drive, as a contractor connects newly installed waterline infrastructure associated with a roundabout project.

The shutdown is scheduled from 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, to 6 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3. The water department said the work is an actual water service shutdown, not a test shutdown as previously stated.

The affected area includes the section of Kiahuna Plantation Drive from and including the Poʻipū Village Shopping Center through and including Kiahuna Plantation Resort.

A portion of Poʻipū Road also will be included in the shutdown area, but officials said the affected section does not serve Department of Water customers.

Customers in the affected area are advised to store enough water for their needs before the shutdown and make sure water heaters do not empty.

Residents should also avoid using appliances that require water during the shutdown.
