Kauaʻi County offices, facilities to close for Statehood Day

Kaua‘i County offices and all neighborhood centers will close on Friday, Aug. 21, in observance of the Statehood Day holiday, according to county officials.

Several public facilities also will be closed, including the Waimea and Kapa‘a swimming pools, all refuse transfer stations, the Kekaha Landfill, the Līhuʻe Redemption Center and the Puhi Metals Recycling Facility.

Residential refuse collection will continue on its regular schedule despite the holiday closures.
The Kaua‘i Bus will operate on its current daily schedule.

County offices and services are scheduled to return to regular business hours Aug. 24.
Residents seeking information about recreation services can visit the county Department of Parks and Recreation at kauai.gov/Parks or call 808-241-4460.
