The Hawaiʻi Law Enforcement Standards Board is seeking qualified contractors to perform a statewide analysis of law enforcement and develop recommendations for training standards.
The selected contractor will conduct a statewide job task analysis and develop recommendations for performance objectives, standards, assessment methods and training curricula, a news release said.
Findings will help the board establish consistent training for law enforcement officers statewide. New standards are required by law to be in place before July 1, 2028.
“This is an important step toward establishing statewide training and certification standards for law enforcement officers in Hawaiʻi,” said Victor McCraw, board administrator. “This analysis will help us better understand the demands placed on officers throughout the state and develop training standards that support their work.”
