As the holidays approach, local residents can help provide food for families in need through Foodland’s annual Share a Holiday feast program.

Through November and December, shoppers at Foodland, Foodland Farms and Sack N Save stores statewide can make a donation to help other families enjoy a holiday meal.

“For some, providing a meal during the holidays can bring added worry to an already busy and stressful season,” said Major Troy Trimmer, commander of The Salvation Army’s Hawaiian & Pacific Islands Division, in a press release. “Foodland’s Share a Holiday Feast gives families the opportunity to focus on what matters most – being together.”

Shoppers can:

  • Donate any multiple of $5, $10 or $20 at checkout.
  • Donate 250 Maikaʻi points ($5).
  • Round up their grocery bill.
  • Add a contribution to their online grocery order.

A $20 donation can provide a family with a turkey and holiday fixings.

Funds raised through Share a Holiday Feast are distributed locally through The Salvation Army Corps’ community centers.

In addition to distributing food, the Salvation Army Hawaiian & Pacific Islands Division offers a wide variety of programs throughout the islands.
