The Kauaʻi Department of Public Works and contractor Earthworks Pacific will hold the final debris cleanup along Hoʻonā, Lāwaʻi, Alania, and Amio roads in Poʻipū on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

Preliminary sorting will begin Monday.

Motorists should drive with caution in these areas where heavy equipment and vehicles will be in use.

This is the final Hurricane Lowell debris sweep for the area. Residents should not place any additional debris, green waste, appliances or other materials in the County right-of-way after Monday.

All transfer stations and the Kekaha Landfill are operating normally, and residents should dispose of or recycle waste at the appropriate facilities. Under County ordinance, the penalty for littering is a fine of up to $250 for each offense, and for each day a violation occurs or continues.

For questions about proper disposal, contact the Public Works Solid Waste Division at 808-241-4841 or solidwaste@kauai.gov.
