Kaua‘i Humane Society announces the appointment of Chris Machorek as its new chief executive officer.

“I am honored to join Kaua‘i Humane Society at an important time in its history,” said Machorek. “I look forward to working with the board, our team members, volunteers, donors and our many business and community partners to build upon [Kaua‘i Humane Society’s] strong foundation, strengthen the organization and expand its ability to serve Kaua‘i.”

Machorek brings more than three decades of senior leadership experience in the hospitality industry on Kaua‘i, with extensive experience leading organizations, developing teams, managing complex operations and building strong relationships with team members, business leaders, community organizations and government partners.

“My career on this island has taught me the value of strong leadership, trusted relationships and community collaboration, and I am excited to bring those principles to [Kaua‘i Humane Society],” Machorek said.

His longstanding professional and community involvement provides him a deep understanding of Kaua‘i’s culture, values and unique island community dynamics.

“We are thrilled to have found a proven leader, a longtime Kaua‘i resident and someone who is highly motivated to guide [Kaua‘i Humane Society] into the future.” said Kaua‘i Humane Society Board President Dan Giovanni.

Machorek’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the no-kill nonprofit organization as it continues to serve Kaua‘i’s animals and the island community, building on its mission of fostering compassion, responsibility and lasting bonds between pets and people.
