South and east shorelines of Kauaʻi are under a high surf advisory through 6 a.m. Monday as Hurricane Nolo continues to generate a swell producing dangerously large breaking waves.
Large breaking waves of 10 to 14 feet are expected for shores along coastlines in the advisory areas are forecast Sunday morning. They are forecast to diminish to 9 to 12 feet on Sunday evening.
Those waves coupled with strong currents will continue to make swimming and other ocean recreation dangerous.
The public should heed all advice from ocean safety officials during the advisory time perid. Remember: when in doubt, don’t go out.
