The hurricane warning previously in effect for Kauaʻi County was canceled and there ar no longer any advisories, watches or warnings in effect for Kauaʻi and Niʻihau as of shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials are now assessing impacts from Hurricane Lowell throughout the county, and no further impacts are forecast. Sustained winds also have fallen below tropical force storm levels.
Furthermore, a flood watch previously in effect for the county was canceled as flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. The public, however, should still continue to heed remaining road closures.
Forecasters in Honolulu also canceled all high surf-related advisories, watches or warnings for the shores around Kauaʻi and Niʻihau, reporting that as Hurricane Lowell moved north of Hawaiian coastal waters, a southwest swell generated by the storm dropped quickly.
