Hawaiʻi Health Systems Corporation Kauaʻi Region is set to host its 3rd annual Kaua‘i Healthy Living Fall Celebration.
The free event from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 19 at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital is open to everyone.
Families from around the island are invited to come get healthy, get informed and get connected, with more than 30 healthy living vendors, Kaua‘i Region health teams, live entertainment and local food.
“This biannual celebration is a great opportunity for the community to connect directly with the people who care for them,” said Hawaiʻi Health Systems Corporation Kauaʻi Region Chief Executive Officer Lance Segawa in a release. “Whether someone is checking their blood pressure, asking a pharmacist a question or just enjoying the music and food with their family, we want every visitor to leave feeling more informed and more connected to their hospital.”
Local food from Kaua‘i’s Lemonade, Little Luna, Kaua‘i Menehune Kitchen and Ola Pono, Kaua‘i Region’s nutrition and education wellness program are just a few of the vendors expected to attend.
Live music from the Cruz Control Duo will run throughout the event, and Mele Apana returns to emcee. Attendees can pick up a Kaua‘i Healthy Living Passport to learn more about healthy living resources available on the island and receive stamps.
Those who submit a completed passport in the lucky drawing will be entered for a chance to win a prize and free giveaways, while supplies last.
See what’s new at the Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital emergency department and expanded imaging services, get free blood pressure checks, tour a gallery showcasing the region’s growth, get guidance on planning ahead for long-term care and pick up fire safety tips.
A lineup of stations will connect visitors directly with a provider, pharmacist, dietitian and therapist covering physical, occupational and speech therapy.
