Kaua‘i County Department of Public Works and contractor The Cutting-Edge notify the public about emergency road closures scheduled for today and Saturday along a portion of Kalama Road in Wailuā.

The closures are set to begin at noon today and 7 a.m. Saturday.

They are necessary for emergency tree removal work ahead of Hurricane Lowell. Specialized equipment is required and must be staged on the roadway because of the nature of the work and to protect workers and the public.

Flaggers will be positioned in the work zone to direct traffic.

Motorists are advised to make appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary closures, use alternate routes and allow extra time to get to destinations.

No parking will be allowed during the emergency closures in the work area.

Contact Kelli with Kaua‘i County Department of Public Works Roads Division at 808-241-4899 or via email at koku@kauai.gov for additional information.
