The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation will close Halekō Road to Nāwiliwili Road in the westbound direction around the clock for one week beginning Tuesday.

Crews will be conducting concrete work associated with the Uahi Ridge housing development.

The closure is scheduled to remain in effect through Sept. 15.

Drivers traveling west on Halekō Road from west of Nāwiliwili Road will be detoured onto Kukui Grove Street. Motorists heading to Kukui Grove Center will need to turn right from Kukui Grove Street onto Nāwiliwili Road, then turn left onto Kaumuali‘i Highway and make another left at the next traffic signal.

Detour signs will be posted to guide motorists through the alternate route. Construction work is weather-dependent.
