The Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative is beginning its search for a new Member Services and Communications Manager as their current manager, Beth Amaro, will be retiring next year.
Amaro joined the cooperative in 2016 as communications manager and was promoted to Member Services and Communications Manager in 2022. Since 2020, she has also served as the cooperative’s primary government affairs liaison.
“It’s been an honor to serve our community as a member of the Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative team for the past 10 years,” Amaro said.
Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative President and Chief Executive Officer David Bissell praised Amaro’s contributions and said the cooperative is seeking someone who can continue the work she has helped establish.
“Beth has made extraordinary contributions to the success of Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative,” Bissell said. “We wish her the best in her well-deserved retirement and look forward to identifying a highly qualified individual who can build on the strong foundation she has helped establish.”
To allow for a smooth transition, officials with the cooperative hope to hire Amaro’s successor before her planned departure in January.
The Member Services and Communications Manager oversees several of Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperativeʻs public-facing functions, including member services, communications, media relations, community outreach and government affairs. The manager also works to maintain relationships between the cooperative, its members, and other key stakeholders.
