The Kaua‘i Fire Department is fighting a brush fire in Wainiha in the vicinity of Ananalu Road.
According to preliminary reports, there are no reports of damage to nearby structures and no reports of injuries.
The fire was reported on Thursday, shortly before 1:25 p.m.
Fire fighters have established a good barrier between the fire and nearby structures, and there are currently no threats to those structures.
Personnel with the Hanalei fire station, Kaiākea fire station, Kapaʻa fire station, Līhuʻe fire station, Tender 3, Engine 2, Air 1, Air 2, Air 3 and the Kaua‘i Police Department have responded.
Kūhiō Highway in the vicinity of Ananalu Road is closed.
The Kaua‘i Police Department is providing traffic control in the area.
