Girl Scouts of Hawaiʻi seeks 40 companies for new Adopt-A-Troop Initiative
Girl Scouts of Hawaiʻi launched a new Adopt-a-Troop statewide initiative and seeks 40 companies to help sustain local troops and connect girls with workplaces, skills and career opportunities.
Each participating company is asked to contribute $25,000 in support of a hybrid troop led by a paid facilitator in communities where parents lack the time or resources to be troop leaders.

Girl Scouts of Hawaiʻi aims to secure all 40 partners by Oct. 22, raising $1 million to support troops statewide.
The initiative is open to companies throughout the state. Those interested in supporting a troop should contact Kanoe Naone at knaone@gshawaii.org or Sheri Magno at smagno@gshawaii.org.
Adopt-A-Troop is designed to reflect the range of industries and career paths available in Hawaiʻi.
Girl Scouts of Hawaiʻi seeks partners to provide girls exposure to a broad range of workplaces and professions.
“Girls need opportunities to see where their interests and abilities could take them,” said Girl Scouts of Hawaiʻi Chief Executive Officer Nāone in a release. “When they visit a local business, learn from employees and ask questions about their work, those careers become something they can picture for themselves. Adopt-a-Troop gives companies a direct role in creating those experiences and building relationships with their future workforce while sustaining the troop that makes it possible.”
Participating companies will host girls for workplace visits, where employees will teach skills, share their professional experiences and introduce girls to different industries and career paths.
Companies also have the opportunity during Girl Scout Cookie season to host a Cookie Boss selling event at their location, during which girls will gain another setting to practice entrepreneurship, goal setting, communication and customer service while engaging with employees and customers.
