UPDATED: Water service shutdown rescheduled for portions of Wailuā Homesteads
Update 9:24 p.m. Aug. 11, 2026: Kaua‘i County Department of Water rescheduled a water service shutdown for emergency mainline repair work affecting portions of Wailuā Homesteads.
The shutdown will now happen from 9:30 a.m. to about 12:30 p.m. Aug. 12.
Affected areas include:
- Portion of Kuamoʻo Road, between Kimo Drive and Kaholalele Road.
- Portion of Kaholalele Road, from Kuamoʻo Road past Pōmaikaʻi Street.
- Pōmaikaʻi Street.
- Huina Street.
- Kokeʻanu Place.
- Waikolia Street.
- Lekia Place.
The repairs are necessary after a leak was detected in the mainline. Updates will be posted on the county Water Department website.

A leak has been detected in the mainline. An emergency water service shutdown may occur at any time if the leak ruptures further.
The affected areas include a portion of Kuamoʻo Road, between Kimo Drive and Kaholalele Road; a portion of Kaholalele Road, from Kuamoʻo Road past Pōmaikaʻi Street; Pōmaikaʻi Street; Huina Street; Kokeʻanu Place; Waikolia Street; and Lekia Place.
