Kauaʻi residents interested in purchasing their first home will have an opportunity to learn about the process during a free educational event later this month.
The First-Time Homebuyers Education Series is a partnership between the County of Kauaʻi Housing Agency, the Kauaʻi Board of Realtors and the Hawaiʻi HomeOwnership Center. It is scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, at the Kauaʻi War Memorial Convention Hall.
The event, with a theme “Homeownership Starts with Education,” will help prospective homebuyers better understand the steps involved in purchasing a home while connecting them with local housing professionals and resources.
Topics include navigating Kauaʻi’s current housing market, preparing financially for homeownership, and learning about mortgage loan options, the pre-approval process, down payment assistance programs, escrow and closing procedures, and home inspections and insurance.
Participants also will have the opportunity to speak directly with local housing professionals, including Realtors, mortgage lenders, title and escrow companies, insurance professionals, home inspectors, affiliate partners of the Kauaʻi Board of Realtors, and representatives from the County of Kauaʻi Housing Agency and the Hawaiʻi HomeOwnership Center.
Residents seeking further information can contact the Kauaʻi Board of Realtors at 808-245-4049 or by email at: kbr@kauaiboard.com.
