Kauaʻi Coffee Company has named longtime agricultural leader Mark Bogner as its new general manager, the company announced Tuesday.
Bogner has more than 30 years of experience in agricultural operations. He succeeds Brian Kubicki, who served as acting general manager during the past year.
“Mark brings decades of agricultural experience, technical expertise and a collaborative leadership approach that will benefit both our team and the future of Kauaʻi Coffee,” Kubicki said in a statement.
The move comes after Kauaʻi Coffee Co. recently secured a 15-year lease for its 3,100-acre plantation on the island’s west side, ending months of uncertainty about the future of the historic and nation’s largest coffee farm.
Bogner will report directly to Scott Meader, chief executive officer of Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA, as the company further integrates its Kauaʻi operations with its parent organization to support future growth.
Bogner most recently served as a consultant to Kauaʻi Coffee, providing operational guidance and leadership support. Before that, he was farm operations manager for Hartung Brothers in Kekaha.
He also remains active in Hawaiʻi’s agricultural industry through his involvement with the Hawaiʻi Crop Improvement Association and the Kauaʻi Farm Bureau.
In a statement, Bogner said he has been impressed by the dedication of Kauaʻi Coffee employees and looks forward to building on the company’s long history.
“It is an honor to serve in this role,” Bogner said. “I look forward to working alongside our team as we continue to strengthen the legacy of Kauaʻi Coffee.”
The company also announced plans for its annual Kauaʻi Community Appreciation Event on Aug. 15 to recognize employees, residents, community leaders and customers for their continued support.
