Lane closures scheduled through July 3 on several roadways around Kaua‘i

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announces the following lane closures planned for weekdays, unless otherwise noted, through July 3 on several roadways around Kaua‘i.

Note: In observance of the Fourth of July, there will be no contraflow or lane closures July 3 unless otherwise permitted.

HIGHWAY 50

KĪPŪ

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 3.5 and 4.5 in the vicinity of Haul Cane Road, from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. through July 2 for emergency tree trimming.

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 3.4 and 8.4 in the vicinity of Haul Cane Road and Puneʻe Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. June 28-July 2 for installing rumble strips on the edges and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KALĀHEO TO ‘ELE‘ELE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 12.2 and 14.9 in the vicinity of Halewili Road and Lauleʻa Street, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through July 2 for landscape maintenance.

HIGHWAY 51

NĀWILIWILI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, near mile post 0.8 in the vicinity of Lālā Road and Kapule Highway, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through July 2 for installing pavement striping, markers on the roadway and drainage. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

KAPA‘IA TO HANAMĀʻULU

• ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 1 and 2, in the vicinity of Laukini Road and Hanamāʻulu Road, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. July 1 for herbicide application.

KAPAʻA TO KEĀLIA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 8.1 and 9.6 in the vicinity of ʻŌhiʻa Street and Māʻilihunā Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through July 2 for signage and paving work.

ANAHOLA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 13 and 15 in the vicinity of Kukuihale Road and ʻAliomanu Road, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through July 2 for landscape maintenance.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 24.2 and 28 in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through July 2 for striping.

PRINCEVILLE TO HANALEI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE westbound, between mile posts 0.3 and 1.2 in the vicinity of Hanalei Plantation Road and Hanalei Bridge, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through June 30 for work on the rock barrier. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HANALEI

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE westbound, between mile posts 1.5 and 2.8 in the vicinity of Hanalei Bridge and Mālolo Road, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. June 28-July 2 for paving work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 58

PUA LOKE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE eastbound, near mile post 1.8 in the vicinity of Halekō Road from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through July 2 for sewer line installation.

HIGHWAY 540

KALĀHEO TO ‘ELE‘ELE

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE eastbound, between mile posts 0 and 3.8 in the vicinity of Kaumualiʻi Highway, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through July 2 for landscape maintenance.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.1 and 3.2 in the vicinity of Huakaʻi Road, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through July 2 for striping and pavement marking. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
• FULL CLOSURE, between mile posts 0.4 and 6.7 in the vicinity of Maʻule Road and Kōkeʻe Road, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. through July 2 for full depth reconstruction and resurfacing. Use Kōkeʻe Road in Kekaha to get to Kōkeʻe State Park.

WAILUĀ HOMESTEADS

• ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 0.0 and 4.5 in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and ʻĀina Pono Street, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. July 2 for herbicide application.

HIGHWAY 583

KAPA‘IA

• ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 3 and 3.9, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. June 30 for herbicide application.

HIGHWAY 5600

WAILUĀ TO KAPAʻA

• SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile posts 0.8 and 3 in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway (Wailuā) to Olohena Road (Kapaʻa) from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through July 2 for pavement marking and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
