$75K in scholarships awarded by Hawaiʻi Medical Service Association to 15 Hawaiʻi high school seniors
Hawaiʻi Medical Service Association recently celebrated its 21st class of the Kaimana Scholarship Program, honoring 15 Hawaiʻi high school 2026 graduates for their achievements and all-around excellence in academics, athletics, community service and healthy activities.
“This is one of the most meaningful events of the year for [Hawaiʻi Medical Service Association],” said Hawaiʻi Medical Service Association Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mark Mugiishi. “It’s a privilege to recognize Hawaiʻi’s best and brightest students and to reaffirm our commitment to investing in their futures as they go on to strengthen our communities.”
Mugiishi and Hawaiʻi Medical Service Association Senior Vice President of Government Policy and Advocacy Jenn Diesman presented the scholarships during a ceremony on Oʻahu, which brought together the awarded students, their families and school representatives.

This year’s recipients were evaluated by a scholarship selection committee and needed to meet academic, athletic and community service requirements.
Each scholarship is $5,000, which can be used to help pay for higher education expenses, including tuition, books, computers and room and board.
