South swell pushes Kauaʻi surf to advisory levels through Friday morning
Powerful waves have rolled into Kauaʻi’s southern coastline on Thursday as a south swell is pushing surf to advisory levels, creating challenging conditions for swimmers.
The National Weather Service in Honolulu issued a high surf advisory for south-facing shores of the island through 6 a.m. on Friday.
Surf is forecasted to be 7 to 10 feet high.
Beachgoers are advised to use extreme caution, as large breaking waves could make it dangerous for those standing along the shoreline.
