Money raised on each island stays within each community and directly benefits youth programs, social welfare, environmental initiatives and more.

“The charity walk continues to make a meaningful difference for nonprofit organizations that provide essential services to communities across Hawai‘i,” said 2026 Charity Walk Kaua‘i Chairperson and Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i General Manager Michael Murphy in announcing the donation. “As rising costs continue to place additional strain on local families, many nonprofits are experiencing increased demand for assistance.”

Murphy added that supporting the charity walk helps ensure nonprofits have the resources they need to serve their communities, and Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i is grateful to its employees, community members and industry partners who participate in fundraising initiatives.

Charity Walk Kaua‘i raised more than $700,000 in 2025 to support hundreds of nonprofit organizations. Murphy, worked closely with Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association to build on that momentum and help the organization reach new fundraising milestones this year.

This year’s Charity Walk Kaua‘i took place May 2 at the Vidinha Stadium soccer field in Līhuʻe.
