Community members encouraged to attend family-focused Play Streets Bicycle Playground event
Keiki can experience a safe road system on their bicycles on a miniature roadway during an upcoming family-focused event at Līhu‘e Civic Center.
Community members are invited to the Play Streets Bicycle Playground from 9 to 11 a.m. June 28 on the Hardy Street side of civic center parking lot.
The event features a roadway-rendering area for children to practice bicycle skills, a learn-to-ride-a-bicycle station, a bicycle skills course and an opportunity to try an e-bicycle for ages 16 years old and older.
Bicycles and helmets will be provided, or you can bring your own.
The purpose of this Play Street event is to give keiki the chance to ride their bicycles on a safe road, with a miniature roadway featuring intersections, roundabouts and other roadway features such as signs and street markings.
These skills help make them safer on their own streets.
All activities at this Play Streets event are free and open to the public.
