It seems Grove Farm on Kaua‘i is having somewhat of a selling bonanza since the end of 2025, selling more than 620 acres of land on the Garden Isle to contractors and a state agency.

A statewide business media outlet reports the latest sale was for 280 acres to a Hawai‘i-based general contractor.

Pacific Business Journal says Nan Inc. bought the land for $10 and plans to build an operations facility on the site. The contractor plans to use the land to expand its physical presence on Kaua’i with facilities that are expected to house it and its Grace Pacific subsidiary.

Grove Farm — a historic sugar producer owned by AOL co-founder Steve Case — at the end of 2025 also sold 260 acres to Department of Hawaiian Home Lanes at a price of $18.25 million, a deal that closed Dec. 29, according to public records.

It’s also still negotiating to sell another more than 1,000 acres to the state Agribusiness Development Corp.

The Agribusiness Development Corp. in December confirmed to Pacific Business News it was in negotiations to purchase more than 1,000 acres of Grove Farm land for an estimated $39 million.

Pacific Business Journal reported the deal was also set to include an additional 40 acres for a $20 million Kaua‘i County jail relocation.

Department of Hawaiian Home Lands plans to develop the 260 acres of land it purchased into a homestead, with 1,100 units reserved for Native Hawaiian beneficiaries. The property will later be split into two communities — one consisting of single-family homes and the other consisting of agricultural land.

Meanwhile, Pacific Concrete Cutting & Coring in February negotiated a deal with Grove Farm for 82 acres.

The contractor operates an industrial yard adjacent to the property Grove Farm sold to Department of Hawaiian Home lands. It decided it was time to move its yard.

It also has an office on an industrial block next to the parcel Grove Farm sold a portion of to the contractor. That office will also move into the newly purchased land once it builds a new structure there.
