Lane closures scheduled through June 19 on several state roadways around Kaua’i

Hawai’i Department of Transportation scheduled several lane closures on weekdays through June 19 — unless otherwise noted — along state roadways around Kaua’i. Remember: Lane closure schedules can change at any time without further notice.

HIGHWAY 50

KĪPŪ TO ʻŌMAʻO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 2.9 and 8.5 in the vicinity of Kīpū Road and Maha Road, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for installing rumble strips on the edges and striping. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

ʻŌMAʻO TO KĀLAHEO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile post 8 to 13, on Monday, June 15 to Friday, June 19 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for landscape maintenance.

ʻŌMAʻO TO LĀWAʻI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 9 and 9.6 in the vicinity of ‘Ūpā Road and Piko Road, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for reconstruction of weakened pavement.

MAKAWELI TO PĀKĀLA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 20.6 and 21 in the vicinity of Private Road, from 9 p.m. to noon June 17 for Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative to do utility line work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 51

NĀWILIWILI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, near mile post 0.8 in the vicinity of Lālā Road and Kapule Highway, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for installing pavement striping and markers on the roadway. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAYS 56/560

LĪHU‘E

  • CENTER LANE CLOSURE possible in both directions, between mile posts 0.1 and 0.3 in the vicinity of Hardy Street and Poinciana Street, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for waterline replacement. No left turns will be allowed through the work area.

LĪHU‘E TO ANAHOLA

  • ROVING SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 4 and 12 in the vicinity of Kaua‘i Beach Road, from 1 to 6:30 a.m. June 16-18 for herbicide application on guardrails, signs and mile marker poles.

ANAHOLA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 13 and 14 in the vicinity of Kukuihale Road and ʻAliomanu Road, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for landscape maintenance.

KALIHIWAI TO PRINCEVILLE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 24.2 and 28.1 in the vicinity of Kāhiliholo Road to Emmalani Drive, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping.

HANALEI

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction, between mile posts 2.6 and 2.8 in the vicinity of Aku Road and Mālolo Road, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving work. Traffic will be detoured to Weke Road via Aku Road and Mālolo Road.

WAIKOKO

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the westbound direction, between mile posts 4.6 and 4.8 in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahaʻi Beach, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for striping, planting, hydroseeding and anchoring mesh. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.

HIGHWAY 58

PUA LOKE

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE in the eastbound direction, between mile posts 1.8 and 1.9 in the vicinity of Halekō Road and Kukui Grove Street, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for sewer line installation.

HIGHWAY 550

KŌKE‘E

  • FULL CLOSURE, between mile posts 0.4 and 6.7 in the vicinity of Maʻule Road and Kōkeʻe Road, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. June 17-19 for full depth road reconstruction.
  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 3 and 6, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for landscape maintenance.

HIGHWAY 580

WAILUĀ HOMESTEADS

  • ROVING LANE CLOSURE possible in either direction, between mile posts 3 and 3.5 in the vicinity of Pokukala Street and Pāʻako Street from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for landscape maintenance.

HIGHWAY 5600

WAILUĀ TO KAPAʻA

  • SINGLE LANE CLOSURE, between mile posts 0.8 and 3 in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway (Wailuā) to Olohena Road (Kapaʻa) from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for pavement marking and striping.
