Bail increased for Hanalei murder suspsect William ‘Billy’ Sinclair
Bail has been increased for a Kīlauea man suspected of murder and attempted murder in two separate incidents a week ago on Kaua‘i.

A judicial review related to evidence recovered during investigation by Kaua‘i police resulted in bail being increased to $1.5 million for suspected 51-year-old murderer William “Billy” Sinclair, who remains in custody.
Sinclair’s bail was previously set at $500,000.
He is suspected of committing the early morning murder Saturday, June 6, in Hanalei of a 37-year-old chef at the restaurant where he worked.
Sinclair also is allegedly the person involved in a separate shooting incident just a few hours later in Kīlauea that resulted in one person being injured after they were grazed by a bullet.
Investigators recovered multiple firearms and related items during the course of their investigation.
Sinclair was arrested June 12 for additional offenses, including 20 counts of ownership or possession of firearms, ammunition and dangerous weapons prohibited.
Additional offenses could be considered as the investigation continues and evidence is reviewed.
