The National Weather Service has canceled a high surf advisory for the Big Island.
The advisory had been in effect for all south facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands, but surf levels have fallen below advisory levels.
In the event of a high surf advisory, beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution. Boaters should expect recreational surfers and body boarders utilizing harbor channels to access surfing areas.
